Please pardon us for making use of this opportunity to highlight an event that was very much appreciated and will like to be  shared with all.

Its a event by
SEAN (should be) for

Luang Phor Saamak

26A Upper Serangoon Road off Tai Thong Cres...

Following extracts from a forum thread ....

"Hi all,

We are planning a mini donation drive to a chosen old folks home this time round for

Luang Phor Saamak's visit.

So those whom would like to do Sankatan (Offerings to the Order of the Sangha) may want to offer some packets of rice, milo, instant noodles etc
when you are visiting Luang Phor. We will then consolidate whatever we have collected and send the foodstuffs to the home.

Of cos those whom like to offer Bintábàat (Offering of Daily Meals) can do so by 11.30am daily.
Please call me to arrange on the days you would like to offer so as not to inccur food wastage.

**of cos there will not be any charges while doing any of these blessings**

I sincerely hope that you guys can help pitch for a little support for a good clause

Thank you all"

Indeed is a very good idea.
Deep respect for the host.

Many other dealers / shop may follow suit.
New year is coming, world had changed.

As devotees, we get our blessing.  During the process, many others unfortunates benefit.
This is what Buddha taught us and want us to do.

Hope the host do not mind us highlighting this in here and asking others to do so.
May all good merits be with the host , LP and those whom had contributed.

Below pictures from the thread as well.

Lots of X'mas gift for those in need.

However, many of such operator, dealer had their expenses.

When we do sankatan, we often had to buy the pail of necc. items.
In some temple, for convenient, we buy from the counter.  Prices range from SGD$18 - SGD$38.

Perhaps operators / dealer may charge only $18 for this sankatan service and instead of the pail, use items such as packets of rice, tins of milk, etc.

Then donate to homes or old folks.
With this , the Buddhist (forum) community will lay a new milestone.
The young Buddhist community get together to contribute to our own society.

Taking $38 as a guide.
One may pay $18 for the service, with $20 use it for such items.

Also , believe dealers and operators will need assistance to move such items to the hands of the needy people.

Man power to carry and distribute the items.
Transport to ferry items to location.

Maybe we should look into these and declare any assistance we cn to these operators/dealers/host, so as to bring down cost of such good event.

Believe many whom had read this will agree that it is a very good idea to do so.
Such way all parties benefited, and many such events will happen.

Thank you to SEAN for this brilliant idea.
You will be the master of this idea.

Guess you will not mind if others follow suit.

Thank you.
